April Meeting
When: Thursday, April 18, 7:15 pm
Where: Sharon's House
What: All I Have to Do is Dream

Last month I attended a Dream Study Class and I really enjoyed it.  So I asked the instructor if she would come to talk at our April meeting and she agreed.  Her name is Linda Mastrangelo.  She is a Dream Specialist, and her bio is below.  She is very informal and will be happy to have a Q and A type discussion.  So, bring your questions, share parts of your dreams, and, I hope, find this a very interesting time.  Ray Charles said "Dreams, if they are any good, are always a bit crazy".  Might be us. Hope it's fun.
Linda asks for a small fee which I am happy to pay because I picked this as a meeting activity.  I would like to ask everyone to bring a snack food or drink to share.  Let me know what you choose so I can fill in the blanks.  Thank you......Sharon

8-Ball  8-ball
Either we are getting better or our memories are fading faster, but the shots at our annual 8-ball showed much improvement over recent years.  Kathy Rossler and Lou D'Agosta were the ultimate champions in the final match against Sue Butler and Tom Gomez.

Ladies Spring Trip
We are going on May 31-June 2 (same weekend as the guys' golf trip) up to Marin County.  We are staying at the Embassy Suites in San Rafael with 3 people to a suite.   The cost is approximate depending on how many people are going.  The suites are about $225 per night per room if there are 3 (less if there are 2).

This includes their great buffet breakfasts and happy hour libations and treats.  If their is an odd number we will work it out and divide the total cost of the rooms by the total number of people( a good math exercise!).  Some thoughts about what to do are open... Sally has looked into going out to Angel Island to the detention museum (I did this tour and it was great!)

Sausalito is also a place to go to.  Other ideas are welcome.  Let me know ASAP if you plan on going (even if you told me at Robin's house please!).  Thanks!  Randi

Colorado Ladies Trip Info
Some have decided not to make the trip due to the expense or other planned trips, but some of the ladies are still planning on going and are making their arrangement via emails.  Those who I think are still going are Shirley, Kathy, Cathy, Joan, and I'm not sure of anyone else.  So, contact one of the ones that are still "in the loop" for further information.

Former Member Update

Joan sent me some info regarding Pam Finch, a former member of Las Madres.  Pam Finch is a realtor in Campbell and was recently honored by the Campbell Chamber of Commerce as their Citizen of the Year.  You can read the Mercury-News article about it at:
    http://www.mercurynews.com/top-stories/ci_22794688/campbell-resident-pam-finch-named-citizen-year-be

In the article that Joan sent, there was information on Pam's daughter and her two children who are struggling with medical expenses.  The article mentions a blood disorder called "spherocytosis" that is a hereditary disease that Pam, her daughter, and her two granchildren have inherited.  If you want to read more and help with their escalating medical costs, go to: http://www.FiveDollarDOTs.com, click on the orange "Buy DOTS", use the pull-down to select CA as the state, use the organization pull-down menu to select:  Keller Williams - Pam Finch - San Jose.

Saturday Coffee Clatches Continue
We meet every Saturday morning at 9 am at Le Boulanger at San Felipe and Yerba Buena.  There is a Starbucks across from it if you need something "special" to go with your bagel or pastry.   Away coffee this month will be at Bellano (B2) Coffee at the new San Pedro Square Market.  They only do coffee here, but there is a crepe place called Cre-Paris in the market as well.  You can check them out on the San Pedro Square Market web site at: http://www.sanpedrosquaremarket.com/.  Car pooling is advised as parking is metered or $6 per car in the parking garage.

AND THEN IT IS WINTER.....

You know. . . time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years. It seems just yesterday that I was young, just married and embarking on my new life with my mate. Yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all the years went. I know that I lived them all. I have glimpses of how it was back then and of all my hopes and dreams.

But, here it is... the winter of my life and it catches me by surprise...How did I get here so fast? Where did the years go and where did my youth go? I remember well seeing older people through the years and thinking that those older people were years away from me and that winter was so far off that I could not fathom it or imagine fully what it would be like.

But, here it is...my friends are retired and getting grey...they move slower and I see an older person now. Some are in better and some worse shape than me...but, I see the great change...Not like the ones that I remember who were young and vibrant...but, like me, their age is beginning to show and we are now those older folks that we used to see and never thought we'd be. Each day now, I find that just getting a shower is a real target for the day! And taking a nap is not a treat anymore... it's mandatory! Cause if I don't on my own free will... I just fall asleep where I sit!

And so...now I enter into this new season of my life unprepared for all the aches and pains and the loss of strength and ability to go and do things that I wish I had done but never did!! But, at least I know, that though the winter has come, and I'm not sure how long it will last...this I know, that when it's over on this earth...its over. A new adventure will begin!

Yes, I have regrets. There are things I wish I hadn't done...things I should have done, but indeed, there are many things I'm happy to have done. It's all in a lifetime.

So, if you're not in your winter yet...let me remind you, that it will be here faster than you think. So, what ever you would like to accomplish in your life please do it quickly! Don't put things off too long!! Life goes by quickly. So, do what you can today, as you can never be sure whether this is your winter or not! You have no promise that you will see all the seasons of your life...so, live for today and say all the things that you want your loved ones to remember...and hope that they appreciate and love you for all the things that you have done for them in all the years past!

"Life" is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after. Make it a fantastic one.

LIVE IT WELL!

ENJOY TODAY!

DO SOMETHING FUN!

BE HAPPY!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!
