Wednesday Coffee Clatches

For April, we'll continue alternating our Wednesday coffees between Panera and Le Bou.  To make it easier, if the date is even we'll go to Le Bou, and if the date is odd we'll go to Panera.  (April 4 - Le Bou, April 11 - Panera, April 18 - Le Bou, April 25 - Panera)

8-Ball Recap

Seventeen of us enjoyed an evening of 8-ball and 99.  Marti and Bud showed everyone who were the "Masters of the Game!"  The 99 games seemed to go on forever, which we discovered was due to playing with the incorrect rules for adding or subtracting 10.  So, for future years....

Rules for the Game of 99
3 - Reverse the direction of play (No change to the score)
4 - Pass the play to the next player (No change to the score)
9 - 99 (Score goes to 99)
10 - Subtract 10 from the score
Face Card (King, Queen, Jack) - Add 10 to the score

Fall Trip.....Cathy Hennig

This year I am offering up Washington DC for the fall ladies trip. The house next door to me is now being rented as a VRBO so between my house and this one there is room. The date is Thursday October 4 to Tuesday the 9th. They are giving it to me for $100 a night.  It has a queen bed, bunk beds and a day bed. 1 1/2 bath. I have two queens and can put an air bed in my office room. The weather has usually cooled some by then, but still not cold. I am two blocks from the metro so getting around is pretty easy. Lots of restaurants by me and fun little coffee shops. The weekends there is a farmers market and arts fair at Eastern Market 2 blocks from me also. So the short of it, I am in a very walkable area. The airport to use is DCA (Regan) it is a 10 minute drive from me and the others are over an hour away. Hope to see you and it is obvious space is a bit limited. As always it is very much a share space situation.
