e-MAIL THOUGHTS
Things to be Thankful For

...the mess to clean up after a party
because it means
I have been surrounded by friends

...the taxes I pay
because it means
that I am employed

...the clothes that fit a little too snug
because it means
that I have enough to eat

...a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing
because it means
I have a home

...the spot I find at the far end of the parking lot
because it means
I am capable of walking

...all the complaining I hear about our government
because it means
we have freedom of speech

...the lady behind me in church who sings off key (or the guy at the game who yells too loud)
because it means
I can hear

...my huge heating bill
because it means
I am warm

...the alarm that goes off in the early morning
because it means
I'm alive

...the piles of laundry and ironing
because it means
my loved ones are near by

...all of the heartaches, stresses, and frustrations my children add to my life
because it means
I was able to have them and they are alive

...weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day
because it means
I have been productive

As we approach the end of the holiday season and a new year,
maybe now is the time to see the beauty in what we take for granted
every day and appreciate the little things that to some would mean so much.
