June Meeting
When: Thursday, June 19
Where: Janis' House
What: Soup & Salad....and Salad Bowls
June meeting is all about salad.  When we were in Chico at the Farmers Market, I saw a guy selling salad bowls.  They were a 14 inch plastic bowl pot planted with leaf lettuce that can be harvested leaf at a time for fresh salads.  Soooo.... we will have a potluck salad dinner and I will provide soup and bread.  Anyone who wants to make a salad bowl needs to let me know so I can provide the lettuce plants, bowl and dirt.  If you already have a 14" or larger  pot, let me know so I won't buy one for you.  These can be replanted year after year and are great for small yards and patio gardens......Janis

August Meeting - Hostess Needed
August 21st meeting has no one assigned.  If someone could please host at their home or plan an activity for the the August monthly meeting.......let Sue Butler know.

Congratulations
Our congratulations to Bill and Marian Caso who will be celebrating 15 years of wedded bliss on the 26th.

Roaring Camp Train Ride
O.K... it looks like we're back to August 16.  Keith wants to go when the weather is warm & the moon is out :-)  So let me know if you're interested in August 16 & I'll call to see how to make some reservations........Kathy

Pinecrest
We have plenty of spots and most of us will probably go from July 25th on.  The sites are available starting different days, depending on what we could get.

Saturday Coffee Clatches Continue
We've moved our "regular" place to Le Boulanger at San Felipe and Yerba Buena.  There is a Starbuck across from it if you need something "special" to go with your bagel or pastry. Our field trip this month is to the Hearbeat Cafe. This is the little place near B of A in the Cabrian Park Plaza that we went to a couple years back. For those wishing to carpool, I'm sure there will be a carpool assembling around 8:30am:

The Pasta Diet

1) You walka pasta da bakery
2) You walka pasta da candy store
3) You walka pasta da Ice Cream shop
4) You walka pasta da table and fridge

And for those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all the conflicting medical studies:

  1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
  2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
  3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
  4. The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks.
  5. The Germans drink a lot of beer and eat lots of sausage and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

  CONCLUSION:

Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
