September Meeting
Thursday, September
18th ~ MOVIE NIGHT!
Hopefully there will be something good playing at the Milpitas
Cinema Super Saver theaters near my house (Ruth). Prices are cheap
($3.00) and the popcorn is good! My first thought is "Whale
Rider" if it hasn't been seen by most but if that doesn't
work then we can pick something else. Before or after the movie
we can either meet at the Starbucks on No. Milpitas Blvd. or at
my house.
Thanks
I would like to
thank everyone who sent cards, flowers and support to me when
my dad passed away. My father blessed me by giving me a great
family and Las Madres has blessed me by giving me such great friends.
Thanks again for all your support...............................Janis

August Meeting Update
Nine ladies had a great time at Randi's eating summer salads &
playing Mexican train. Betty did very well for a first timer!!
Kathy would like to tell you who won the "big bucks"
but she has forgotten already!!
Boccie Ball
Plans are in the works
for another amateur Boccie Ball competition.
When: Sunday September 21st beginning around 1:30pm
Where: Hellyer Oaks Technology Park on Hellyer Avenue
also known as the Clinimetrics corporate facility.
How do you get there? From Blossom Hill area take
Blossom Hill Road past 101 and turn left on Hellyer (which is
right before you would head up the Silver Creek Hill) Travel along
Hellyer past the light (Embedded) and past Celestica on the right.
There will be a series of two story white buildings complex on
the left with a left turn into Hellyer Oaks Technology Park. Drive
straight back towards Power Integrations building and you will
see us near the volleyball court.
From Evergreen area head towards the country club and continue
down the hill towards 101 (lots of construction going on so be
careful). At the bottom of the hill is a light at Hellyer. Turn
right and go along Hellyer to the Hellyer Oaks Technology Park.
Third option is to call Joan.
What do I need to bring: A dish to share and your own meat
to barbeque, beverages to drink, and dishes with utensils to eat
with. There are tables with umbrellas but you may want to bring
lawn chairs. I will supply the charcoal, condiments,
Who can come? Anyone ..it's a family activity. There
will be a boccie ball competiton and a horseshoe competition.
If you have a volleyball, there is a sand court.
Good News
Jacob Verhoeven should be coming home soon! Watch your e-mail

Saturday Coffee Clatches
Continue
Meet your Las Madres friends for some coffee and conversation
at the Starbuck's at White and Aborn on Saturday mornings at 9am.
Every third Saturday is a field trip. This month we will be having
coffee at our usual "hangout" and then going to the
Crate & Barrel outlet afterwards.
e-MAIL TIDBIT
One
day in heaven, the Lord decided He would visit the earth and take
a stroll. Walking down the road, He encountered a man who was
crying. The Lord asked the man, "Why are you crying, my son?"
The man said that he was blind and had never seen a sunset. The
Lord touched the man who could then see and was happy.
As the Lord walked further, He met another
man crying and asked, "Why are you crying, my son?"
The man was born a cripple and was never able to walk. The Lord
touched him and he could walk and he was happy.
Farther down the road, the Lord met another
man who was crying and asked, "Why are you crying, my son?"
The man said, "Lord, I work for the school system."
And the Lord sat down and cried with him.
