APRIL MEETING
When: Thursday, April 21, 7:15 pm
Where: Sue Butler's House
What: 25th Reunion Planning

April meeting will be a planning meeting for our 25th Reunion. Come and bring your ideas!

Notes from the Prez

The St. Pat's dinner was fantastic.  Thanks so much to Shirley for preparing the Corn Beef and Cabbage etc.  Best meeting ever.  Our next meeting will be at my house.  We will have our meeting and then it's on to game night.  Please R.S.V.P. by April 20th so I have enough tables and chairs set up.  I will supply soft drinks, coffee and table munchies.  Please bring either a dessert or appetizer to share.

8-ball was another huge success.  Thanks to Ginny and Tom for hosting this annual event for so many years.  It was very fitting to have Tom on the winning team for the first time.

April is one of our quieter months, with no activities planned other than the meeting and Saturday coffee.  Hope everyone has a month full of gardening and spring cleaning.  Don't forget to set your clocks ahead Saturday night, April 2nd.

Since the place we had in mind for the "reunion" on Lincoln Ave. closed, we should discuss at the April meeting other alternatives.  Come with suggestions.  We do have a back up plan at the cabana club if needed.  I would like to open our house to the mom's and dad's on Friday, September 16th for an evening of just mingling.  Once we have all the details of the weekend activities, I would like to put together an invitation that we can send to as many of the past members.  Please, get the word out.

Las Madres Trip Obligations
As has been the policy in the past, those wishing to go on a Las Madres trip will pay a $25.00 non refundable deposit in advance.   If you cancel later than the cancellation date for the planned accomodations, you will be responsible for the cost of one night's stay. If you cancel before that time (so that a room can be cancelled if necessary.....or even the entire stay if those going deem the price too high), you will only lose your $25 deposit.

Summer '06 Mediterranean Cruise
I am still waiting for our group price package to be put together by the cruise lines.... they say the prices won't be announced still for another month or so.  As soon as I know anything, I will let everyone know.  Randi  :-)

Los Padres Golf
Lou has procured a house at Forest Meadows for the weekend of June 3-5th. It is not the Aacker house, as they wanted to wait until almost that date to confirm. It looks nice and roomy-near the 7th green. Also has some tee times for Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Contact Lou if you are interested in going.

Saturday Coffee Clatches Continue
Meet your Las Madres friends for some coffee and conversation at the Starbuck's at White and Aborn on Saturday mornings at 9am. Every third Saturday is a field trip. AWAY Coffee on Saturday, April 16th, will be at the Starbucks on Park and Naglee across from the Rosucrucian Museum (northwest corner).  It was suggested (by Joan, I think) to have coffee somewhere and then go walk through a neighborhood and look at the lovely spring gardens.  Where better than the Rose Garden neighborhood! Also, we can walk around "THE" Rose Garden near there.  Originally we were going to go to Willow Glen and check out D's, the pool place, for our Sept. 25th anniversary party (for the families).  However, D's is closed and the building is vacant.  We are looking for suggestions for other "family" places to hold the evening event that has something for everyone to do.  Someone suggested Dave and Buster's but anyone know of anything else???  Bring your suggestions to the next meeting...............Randi, the coffee lady  :-)

THE RABBIT

A man is driving along a highway
and sees a rabbit jump out
across the middle of the road.
He swerves to avoid hitting it,
but unfortunately
the rabbit jumps right in front of the car.
The driver,
a sensitive man as well as an animal lover,
pulls over and gets out to see
what has become of the rabbit.
Much to his dismay,
the rabbit is dead.
The driver feels so awful
that he begins to cry.

A beautiful blond woman
driving down the highway
sees a man crying on the
side of the road
and pulls over.
She steps out of the car
and asks the man what's wrong.
"I feel terrible,"
he explains,
"I accidentally hit this rabbit
and killed it."
The blonde says,
"Don't worry."
She runs to her car
and pulls out a spray can.
She walks over to the limp,
dead rabbit, bends down,
and sprays the contents onto the rabbit.
The rabbit jumps up,
waves its paw at the two of them
and hops off down the road.
Ten feet away the rabbit stops,
turns around and waves again,
he hops down the road another 10 feet,
turns and waves, hops another ten feet,
turns and waves, and repeats this again
and again and again, until he hops out of sight.
The man is astonished.
He runs over to the woman and demands,
"What is in that can?
What did you spray on that rabbit?"
The woman turns the can around
so that the man can read the label.

It says.........

(Are you ready for this?)

(Are you sure?)

(You know you could just click off and not read the punch line....)

(You know you're gonna be sorry)

(OK, here it is)

"Hair Spray - Restores life to dead hair, adds permanent wave."
