Meet at Filoli parking lot
at 3:45pm. Carpooling
would be a good idea.
Dress warmly and wear
comfortable shoes.
There is a cafe there to buy
food and a great gift shop.
Christmas is
full of memories for all
of us of wonderful times
with family and friends. So, it’s time for a trip down
memory lane.
At Happy Hour had a
discussion about the
food for the Christmas
Party.
We figured since
the theme was
black/white…like an old
television set…we should
have retro food.
We also decided
that we’d just have
appetizers and desserts
this year.
Think of food
from your past,
something you enjoyed
growing up, as a
newlywed, or when you
attended a Las Madres
party.
Was it made using
Bisquick or by opening a
can of peaches or pie
filling?
Did you use jello
or a cake mix?
We talked more
about this at coffee and
decided to add salads to
the menu…think Waldorf
Salad, Ambrosia, or ?
Maybe it’s time
to get out your old Pot
of Gold Cookbook to find
that retro recipe
…or look in your Betty
Crocker or Better Homes
& Gardens cookbooks
…or in your old recipe
file.
We talked about
Magic Cookie Bars and
those mini cheesecakes
made with a vanilla
wafer on the bottom and
cherry pie filling on
top.
Maybe you can
find that old recipe by
going to the Recipe link
on our website at: http://www.lasmadres80.net/LMRecipesIndex.html
So, search your
memory for that retro
recipe.
