Without her expertise we would be communication challenged.  Thank you, Ginny, from all of us.

Ginny says, "THANKS, EVERYONE!"

Las Madres Yearly Donation - Vicki
This year the attendees at the January meeting decided to donate $200 each to 2 local organizations that assist families, women and children; ACCESS and Heritage House.

ACCESS
Families of infants who are born prematurely or with special needs as newborns face many challenges in addition to the health status of their children. The Auxiliary of Good Samaritan Hospital, a non-profit organization, has created ACCESS (A Caring Community of Education, Services and Support) to help NICU (Neotnatal Intensive Care Unit) families spend more time with their babies, worry less and develop the skills they will need when their children come home.
The mission of ACCESS is to support families of critically ill babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit by providing free services including home stays, transportation, food, child-care assistance, and in-unit educational resources, so that families are more able to focus on bonding with and learning to care for their infants. Families with severe financial limitations also receive vouchers for meals, gas, car seats and CPR.

HERITAGE HOUSE
Heritage Home provides long-term compassionate ministry to homeless, poor and abused women who are pregnant and have no where else to turn but the streets. Often these pregnant women are without food or shelter. Heritage House tries to be a light of hope in these woman’s lives - looking at the whole situation - to meet their immediate needs and work out long-term solutions through our multiple programs. The home serves 17 women and 8 babies at a time.

A big thanks to Shirley who researched and came up with several donation options for us to choose from. And thank you to all of you who remain LM80 members which allows us to help others in our small way.

Third Annual Mother's Day Camping at Del Valle - Joan
Anyone interested in camping at Del Valle in the Livermore Valley over the Mother's Day weekend, May 7th- 9th, will need to make reservations through Reserve America beginning Feb 12th. If you have any questions please contact Joan and Walt Wilson 270-3705. Wilson's will try to book site 38 again. It is the one by the creek which should be running quite well right now :-)

Saturday Coffee Clatches Continue
We meet every Saturday morning at 9 am at Le Boulanger at San Felipe and Yerba Buena.  There is a Starbucks across from it if you need something "special" to go with your bagel or pastry.  Due to the fact that many will be on the cruise for our usual field trip date, there will not be a field trip this month.

A Poem About Our Girlfriends

Someone will always be prettier.
Someone will always be smarter.
Some of their houses will be bigger.
Some will drive a better car.
Their children will do better in school.
And their husband will fix more things around the house.
So let it go, and love you and your circumstances.
Think about it!
The prettiest woman in the world can have hell in her heart.
The most highly favored woman on your job may be unable to have children.
The richest woman you know, she's got the car, the house, the clothes ~ might be lonely.
And the Word says, 'If I have not Love, I am nothing.'
So, again, love you.
Love who you are.
Look in the mirror in the morning and smile and say,
'I am too Blessed to be Stressed and too Anointed to be Disappointed!'
'Winners make things happen ~ Losers let things happen.'
Be 'Blessed' Ladies and pass this on to encourage another woman.
To the world you might be one person, to me you are special!
