January Meeting
When: Thursday, January 18, 7:15 pm
Where: Sally's House
What: Our Annual Planning Meeting

The annual January planning meeting will be held at Sally's on Thursday, January 18.  To make it fun for all, this year, we will have a CATERED dinner, and a re-gifting party.  Andiamo's will provide an Italian dinner, you only need to bring your meeting, outings, and couple events ideas, and a nice gift that just wasn't quite your type (not a white elephant--an exchange, not a dump).
Please RSVP to Sally by January 11, as an order must be placed with the restaurant.

Las Madres Dues
Our annual dues were set at $10 for 2007.  Please send your check to Vicki before the end of January.

Saturday Coffee Clatches Continue
Meet your Las Madres friends for some coffee and conversation at Java Junction on Saturday mornings at 9am.  Every third Saturday is a field trip.  This month's away coffee will be Saturday, January 20th. The Mercury News had write-ups on several coffee shops so I decided we'll try them all!! This month we'll go to MISSION CITY COFFEE ROASTING, 2221 The Alameda, Santa Clara, 261-2221. They have plenty of seating and is a local hang-out for college students, but hopefully on a Saturday morning we will find it pleasant. The parking is rumored to be bad in back so try the street. We'll carpool from the old Starbuck's parking lot at Aborn & White for anyone interested... leaving at 8:45.

Dear Abby's New Year's Resolutions

JUST FOR TODAY: I will live through this day only.  I will not brood about yesterday or obsess about tomorrow.  I will not set far-reaching goals or try to overcome all of my problems at once.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will be happy.  I will not dwell on thoughts that depress me.  If my mind fills with clouds, I will chase them away and fill it with sunshine.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will accept what is.  I will face reality.  I will correct those things I can correct and accept those I cannot.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will improve my mind.  I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.  I will not be a mental loafer.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will make a conscious effort to be agreeable.  I will be kind and courteous to those who cross my path, and I'll not speak ill of others.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will refrain from improving anybody but myself.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will do something positive to improve my health.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will gather the courage to do what is right and take responsibility for my own actions.
