Raft Trip Info.....from Janis
No one has signed-up with Janis for the American River raft trip that is scheduled for Sunday July 9th.  Janis needs to know if people are going by July 5th or the event will be cancelled.  The cost for the rafts is $82.00 for 10 man rafts that will hold 8 comfortably.  No deposit is necessary.  People will need to be at the raft rental no later than 10:30 a.m. on the 9th.  American River Raft Rentals is located at 11257 S. Bridge Street in Rancho Cordova, near Sacramento.  They have a website at www.raftrentals.com. which probably has a map of how to get there and other info.  Any questions, contact Janis.

Kid's Korner

Darren Heinrichsen is going for his Junior year abroad to study at the University of Birmingham in England.  His family is very proud of him and his accomplishments and plan to visit him (in England and France) over the Xmas holidays.  If anyone else is going to England next year, let Randi know so you can visit Darren.  His family will miss him but they know this is a once in a lifetime experience.

Jennifer Butler earned the following awards at Presentation:
    Department Award for Campus Ministry
    Religious Studies Department Award
    The Patriot Newspaper Award
    Nano Nagle Scholarship Award

All of her friends and family are very proud of her accomplishments.

Safety Tip for Traveling and Everyday
This was passed on by a policewoman who travels all over the US and gives seminars and techniques for business women.

HOW TO DETECT A 2-WAY MIRROR
When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, department store fitting rooms, etc., how many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually  a 2-way mirror? (i.e., they can see you, but you can't see them)
There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms. It is very difficult to positively identify the surface by just looking at it. So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type of mirror we are looking at?
Just conduct this simple test: Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is a GENUINE mirror.
However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your  nail, then BEWARE, FOR IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR!
So remember, every time you see a mirror, do the fingernail test."  It doesn't cost you anything. It is simple to do, and it might save you from getting "visually raped!"

Remember: "No Space, leave the Place!"

ALL I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LIFE....

I LEARNED FROM  MY GIRLFRIENDS

*   Good times are even better when they're shared.
*   A good long talk can cure almost anything.
*   Everyone needs someone with whom to share their secrets.
*   Listening is just as important as talking.
*   An understanding friend is better than a therapist; and cheaper too!
*   Laughter makes the world a happier place.
*   Friends are like wine; they get better with age.
*   Sometimes you just need a shoulder to cry on.
*   Great minds think alike, especially when they are female!
*   When it comes to "bonding," females do it better.
*   YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD FOR SLUMBER PARTIES!!!!
*   Girls just want to have fun.
*   It's important to make time to do "girl things."
*   Calories don't count when you are having lunch(or any other food) with your girlfriends.
*   You can never have too many shoes.
 *   GEMS MAY BE PRECIOUS, BUT FRIENDSHIP IS PRICELESS!!!!!

e-MAIL HUMOR
A husband, proving to his wife that women talk
more than men, showed her a study which  indicated
that men use on the average only 15,000 words
a day,  whereas women use 30,000 words a day.

She thought about this for a while and then
told  her  husband that women use twice as many words
as men because they have to repeat everything they say.

Looking stunned, He said, "What?"
