February Meeting Review

A dozen ladies came to the meeting with ideas for the desigin of our
commemorative night shirt. We will be purchasing nightshirts through Lands End
(see email from Kathy regarding the site) and we will be having them embroidered
for a very reasonable price. If after checking out Lands End, you choose to look
elsewhere, you can purchase any style plain colored night wear( not print) and get
it to Kathy by the March meeting. Those going on the LM Spring trip to Arnold
on the 24th, we will make every attempt to have the shirts done by them.
After a good amount of time was spend on nightshirts...and talking....we
learned a new game called Cardinal Mexican Train. We played it kind of like
Bunko in the moving around to various tables. It "seems" to be doable, so Joan
will host the maiden attempt to play it as an Adult function. It does not require a
specific amount of people. Mark your calendars tentatively for June 3rd.
(Grandma may be needing to go to a first birthday for Kendra)

                    Roster Info
Roster info was sent to all members by e-mail (and checked by phone with a
few).  After a few changes are made a roster will be printed.  Should be
available at the Gomez 8-Ball function.

Saturday Coffee Clatch

Come join your Las Madres girlfriends every Saturday morning at Starbucks in
the Savemart shopping center for a morning of visiting. We can be found around
9:00 am anchoring down a group of tables, and if you drop by a bit later, we are
usually there still. We have been known to hang out until 11:00 or later.

Brunch/Weekender Party

Just a reminder to everyone about the Sunday Brunch/Weekender party at
Robin Nevoli's on Sunday, March 12th at 11 AM.
For anyone who doesn't know about the Weekender line of clothing, this is a
line of clothing that can be mixed and matched and is great for work, but can be
worn casually as well as dressed up to wear out for the evening. The fabric is
constructed of 50% cotton and 50% polyester. The clothes are comfortable to
wear, can be thrown in the washer and dryer, and packs well.
Please RSVP to either Robin or Sue Ballard.

                    e-MAIL HUMOR
A silent moment of remembrance.. ;-)

                            Dear friends:

It is with the saddest heart that I have to pass on the following.

Please join me in remembering a great icon. Veteran Pillsbury spokesperson, The
Pillsbury Doughboy, died yesterday of a severe yeast infection and complications
from repeated pokes to the belly.

He was 71. Doughboy was buried in a slightly greased coffin. Dozens of
celebrities turned out, including Mrs. Butterworth, the California Raisins, Hungry
Jack, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, Captain Crunch and many others.
The graveside was piled high with flours as longtime friend, Aunt Jemima,
delivered the eulogy, describing Doughboy as a man who "never knew how much
                            he was kneaded."

Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with many
turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his
dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he even still,
as a crusty old man, was considered a roll model for millions.

Toward the end it was thought he'd rise once again, but he was no tart.

Doughboy is survived by his second wife, Play Dough. They have two children
                            and one in the oven.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes
