October Meeting
When: WEDNESDAY, October 15, 7:15 pm
Where: Matsumoto School - Computer Lab
What: Web Page Design by GT
GT Web Design (AKA Ginny & Tina) will teach you how to create your own webpage and post it online.  Your webpage can host pictures to share with family & friends, an invitation for an event, an itinerary for a trip.....the possibilities are endless!  If you have a Mac laptop, bring it along.  If not, don't worry, you'll still be able to participate and make a page.   NOTE:  This meeting has been moved to a WEDNESDAY.  RSVP to Ginny.

Movie Meeting Update - Sally
6 of us met for the September LM meeting, an outing to see the new movie "Women" at Eastridge.  Marti, Vicki, and Sally tried the Japanese restaurant in the food court.  The remake of the 30's movie was disappointing; long, slow, and not terribly clever.  Great cast, but it needed better writing.  We found a few moments that caused a chuckle.

Beach Breakfast Update - Sue Butler
We had a great turn out (obviously we had the Wilsons, the Butler’s (including Eddie, JB, Jennifer and Joey, Ellie and Rudy) the Nevoli’s (including Amy, Brett, and Abbey, and Spice) the Kranak’s and Mike Ballard and his boss, Sue, Charles and Levi, and the Gerlinger’s already camping there for the weekend.  We had Bret (with one t) Adam, Shirley, Kathy and Keith, Sally, Krystal and Sean show up for the beach breakfast on Saturday morning.  After a wonderful HEART ATTACK breakfast some went for a walk along the beach, and others just crashed or visited at the campsites.  It’s always nice to kick back and visit with all of our friends.  Joan and Walt’s  #59 site seems the best to host the breakfast as there is so much room to set up for everyone.  For those who wish they could have been there, hopefully we will see you NEXT time!

Bocce Ball Update
    Version 1 by Sally:
8 hard core bocce enthusiasts headed out to St. Francis Cabrini, dinner in hand, to test our skill (or is it luck?) at the recent couples event on September 27.  Though Bud and Sue, and Charles and Sue put forth a good effort, no one could defeat the amazing Amazon woman team of Kathy/Sally who reigned undefeated all night (okay, two games).  Joan and Walt might not have won a game, but Joan's delicious fresh apple crisp, and Walt's fire pit and coffee were the highlight of the evening.
    Version 2 by Sue Butler:
8 people ventured out on a beautiful evening at bocce de St. Frances Cabrini to attempt to reign as champions.  Only 2 came out on top, Kathy R with partner Sally.  Those two kicked some serious butt, but even the losers had fun.  Fun enough to have us for homemade apple crisp afterwards at their place.  Thank you Joan and Walt.  Sue and Charles and Bud and Sue filled the middle of this event.  Not sure if we will plan bocce next year so much in advance.  That way, maybe we can get more participants.

Missed seeing the usuals and hopefully next time we’ll have the more of the regular gang.

Napa B&B Tour & Taste Event
When:  Saturday, December 6, 2008
Time: 2 PM to 7 PM
Cost:  $55 per person for ticket (went up $10.00 this year)

The Napa Holiday Tour is the first Saturday of December.  Last year several of us either spent Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday nights at the Napa Inn which is one of the B & B's on the tour.
If you stay 2 nights at the Napa Inn, one ticket for the tour is included.
I think there was approx. 12 B&B's that you go to (some are walking distance from each other on the tour) and they also provide a shuttle to get you to each one.
There is plenty of food and wine at each stop, and the holiday decorations and entertainment is well worth the trip.  Anyway, there is so much food; we didn't even have dinner that night, although some did go to various restaurants within walking distance.  It runs from 2-7 p.m. that day only (12/6.)  We have already booked.  This time we are finally staying in the main house.

Some friends are planning on staying at the Embassy Suites which is walking distance from the Napa Inn. If you are interested in the Napa Inn you can call them directly at 1-800-435-1144 (you can also go to their website to check out rooms and availability.)

The web site to just order tickets for the tour if you are not planning to stay in Napa or if you are staying only one night at the Napa Inn or whatever is:  http://napaholidaytour.com/

Any questions please call or e-mail
Sue Butler.

How to Succeed...
Once again, David and Randi are performing in the musical, "How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying."  David plays a manager (lecherous at times!) and Randi reads the book... "How to Succeed..." and both are in the chorus in many big numbers.  This musical is based on the old movie with Robert Morse and was then on Broadway starring Matthew Broderick.  The dates are Oct. 23, 24, and 25 at 7:30pm in the Pioneer Performing Arts Center.  Attached is the ticket order form for your convenience, as all seats are reserved on a first come, first serve basis.  Thanks, as always, for supporting the arts!  Randi   :-)

Saturday Coffee Clatches Continue
We've moved our "regular" place to Le Boulanger at San Felipe and Yerba Buena.  There is a Starbucks across from it if you need something "special" to go with your bagel or pastry. Our field trip this month is to ???
